We - Frank Oravetz and Stephanie Hamilton-Oravetz - have been sharing travel and photographic adventures together for over 30 years. The name, "Visual Ovation Photography" reflects our desire to acknowledge, appreciate and metaphorically "applaud" that which is beautiful, interesting, compelling or curious in the world. We feel that the artistic in all around us, if we take the time to look. Our images can be viewed at our Visual Ovation Photography website. We share our images and views about photography, travel and life by way of our Visual Ovation Blog.
The goal of this Blog is more specific. Here we focus on a particular place and time that we love: Venice at the time of Carnivale. History, mystery, art and performance all join together for a few weeks in the misty winter Venice. We hope you will be as enticed by it all as we are. We are joined in the photo above by "Il Primo Matteo" - Matthias Fliegel. He embodies the joyful, creative and playful spirit of Carnivale in Venice, and we are delighted to know him.
Please contact us with comments or questions. And if you are a performer and we have not identified you, it will only be because we don't know your name. We would love it if you would contact us so we can say hello to you and properly identify you.
