The Art of Carnivale in Venice

Carnival is underway in Venice.  How could we possibly be blue? 

I have always loved this image, though she is not one of Frank's favorites.  Both because of the color palette and the emotional feel, I have named her, simply, "Blue."  In a lovely turn of events, not only was she selected for a juried show at Sebastopol Center for the Arts with the theme, "Blue," but she was given the Coordinator's Award.  What a delight. 

I wonder if our lovely Blue is visiting La Serenissima this Carnival season?

 

It Is Nearly Time....

 

It is nearly that time, again.  That marvelously over-the-top, fabulously creative, artistic and playful time.  That centuries-old time of delight and mystery:  Carnival in Venice. 

So here is something to whet your appetite.  This is the group from Bonn that regularly attends Carnival and delights with marvelously creative costumes and masks.  I wonder what they have thought of for this year?  All will be revealed, soon.
